Back in 2017 Google lost a big case in EU and got fined around €2,4 billion for misusing their market dominance in Google shopping. Google's answer to this was to create a Google CSS Partner program.
The partner program gives third party companies the ability to send product listings to Google shopping.
Only approved and certified Google CSS Partners can do this.
Moose is or course a Google CSS Partner!
Google has a partner network of price comparison websites or CSS websites that enrolled in the Google CSS Partner program.
In order to send product listings to Google shopping, both free and ads, you need to use a CSS service.
By default in Google Merchant Center you will use Google shopping CSS (Google's own CSS).
However you can choose a different CSS supplier for your Google shopping listings, but it needs to be a Google CSS Partner.
You can find all verified Google CSS Partners in the partner directory.
Of course Moose is listed as a Google CSS partner.
The only visible change in your Google shopping ad when changing the CSS is the "By..." section in the bottom of the ad. For example if you're using Moose CSS it will say "By Moose".
If you click anywhere on the shopping ad except for the link "By Moose" you will be directed to the product on the ecommerce website. However if you click on "By Moose" you will be directed to the CSS website.
Clicks on the "By..." link is currently free.
